Day Kamp
There is nothing better than a day of play for social dogs. Canine guests are grouped by similar interests and activity levels for the best play experience. Each Day Kamp guest enjoys morning and afternoon play sessions with quiet time in between. However, Day Kamp is not for every dog. For our non-social guest, we offer Day Boarding as an alternative. All Day Boarding guests will enjoy one-on-one playtime with our staff.

Training
Training Philosophy
Our training philosophy at Kamp K9 is simple. We believe that every dog deserves to be given a chance to succeed without limitations. We do not have a one-size-fits-all training method; we recognize that every dog is different so our training approach and style varies depending on each dog’s situation. Our primary focus is always finding the most effective ways to communicate with our dogs so that we can clearly define expectations for them. At that point, we can shift the focus to educating dog owners so that they can have the same obedient dog at home that we have at Kamp K-9.
In order to do this, we use a method of dog training called Clear Signals Training (CST). CST is a balanced training philosophy composed of 3 distinct phases: Teaching, Training, and Proofing.
Nofo Lilo – Director Operations
Nofo has been working professionally with canines of all shapes and sizes for over 15 years. At a very young age, Nofo threw himself into his studies and graduated at the top of his class from the Military K9 Handlers Course. From there, he served on 3 deployments and after only 2.5 years, he was hand selected to attend Kennel Masters Course- a course where typically students must have at least 7 years of experience before attending. Nofo graduated with top honors from this course and gained valuable experience in training other canine trainers. When he returned home, Nofo continued to train dog trainers in the ATF, local police departments, Department of Homeland Security, Danish Canine Special Forces, Italian Carabinieri, and many others. Lastly, one of Nofo’s favorite dog training opportunities was working for the Minnesota Twins as a Security Canine Specialist.
Nofo currently resides in Schaumburg and has been the Director of Operations for Kamp K-9 since its opening in 2021. Nofo specializes in puppy development, territorial behaviors, rehabilitating abused dogs, obedience, and more. He is well versed in a variety of different dog training methods including balanced, clicker, marker, and clear signals training. Nofo’s years of experience in different training environments has left him with the confidence and expertise to effectively train any dog to any goal.
Jonathan Guillen – Lead Trainer
Jonathan Guillen – Lead Trainer
Jonathan is Kamp K-9s Lead Trainer. He found his passion for helping dogs at a young age and volunteered all throughout High School from 2012 to 2016 at Wright Right Way Rescue in Morton Grove. While there, he picked up the fundamentals of K-9 care and hundreds of hours of learning the intricacies of Canine body language. In 2016 Johnathan made the decision to serve his country and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Unfortunately, an injury led to his separation from the military. After his separation, Johnathan, decided to revisit his love of working with dogs.
Expanding his knowledge through Katch K-9 Academy, Johnathan, threw himself into every dog training medium available. Since 2019, Jonathan has mastered Basic Obedience, Socialization training, Canine Reactivity, E-Collar and Off leash discipline. Johnathan also brings a lot of Sport Dog Experience having trained dogs in Agility, Dock Diving, PSA, and IGP disciplines and will be developing sport programs for future Kamp fun.
